This month is all about ribbon and lace at the Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge blog. We have been sponsored by Craft Shapes in Torbay - here is a little bit about them.
Craft Shapes Torbay is a husband & wife team run from workshops in the sunny seaside town of Torquay in Devon
It was created to help Kim, who originally set up her company Dotty Heaven who makes personalised and bespoke wooden gifts. She was finding it very difficult to source the right shapes and designs for her customers - and wanted to offer something a little different to the "run of the mill" craft shapes
available for purchase on the internet.
Husband, Ashley researched different methods of wood cutting and after a year of using a CNC machine they decided to invest in a Laser Cutting machine.
Craft Shapes Torbay is still in its early stages but in its first 6 months of business is going from strength to strength - with a portfolio of over 100 designs already. New shapes and designs are being created every day and they welcome requests on new deigns too
I must say the quality of the shape I was given was really good, although I did have a little bit of a fit as I've never actually used a wooden shape in earnest so I hope you like my first attempt
In fact this was also y first go at Crackly Paint and Chris (my son) raised his eyes to heaven and made that noise that only teenagers can make at my delight and amazement at watching paint crack apparently I am "so sad"
I just love the sentiment on the back of the heart and I thought it fitted the back of the shape really well.
Anyway it is a lovely challenge to do, it can be on any medium so long as it contains ribbon and lace and don't forget to link back to Rhedd and Rosie's Challenge blog.
