One of my friends birthday is soon and she has everything so it is really difficult to think of a present, so I decided to make her a box with some handmade soaps in. I hope she likes it!
Hi, I'm Melissa. This is just a record of the bits and pieces that I make, I am not the worlds best crafter but you don't have to be the most important thing is that you enjoy it :). I'm married to a very patient Nick who doesn't complain at the vast amounts of money I spend on stamps and ink and have two of the best sons a Mum could want.

27th March
I was so busy today, I needed some time out before my brain burst - so here is what I made :) I wish I could say that it was "by design" but it sort of fell in to place on its own.
Hope everyone is keeping warm and well
Lots of love

Man cards
This must be a record, blogging 2 days in a row! I am on a quest to create more Man cards. No sparkle, no ribbons, no flowers! I've been stamp hunting, and here are my first couple. I've coloured them in using my trusty distress pens and a little water to smudge them. The water has some glossy accent on it, but I'm not sure if it shows up in the photos.
Just noticed my sentiment has gone wonky in one of them, I stood it up to quickly to photograpg it - better go and fix that!

15th March
Over the past couple of days I've had a bit of an experiment! Double sided sticky with stamped acetate on one side and glitter on the other for the fairy's wings, masks, alcohol inks and reflections. Sometimes I find that I re-discover old techniques, or have a go at doing things I'd previously given up on. Anyway a journey of adventure! Anything to forget the gyp my back is giving me at the mo. Also I've sent off for my ticket to the stamp and scrapbook show at Alexandra Palace, a day spent there with Eileen and her friends is one of the happiest of the year!
The bright one with the alcohol inks uses that amazing stamp from Rhyn's Designs. The fairy is of course from Lavinia. The mask was a freebie from a magazine an I can't remember where the bird came from.

New Baby Boy!
We had some lovely news this week, friends of ours in Belgium have become Grandparents for the first time, so I thought it the ideal opportunity to send out a card for them and also one for the new Mum and Dad. Not jealous really, I love my boys with a passion but what I wouldn't give for another baby, but I'm too old and have too bad a back so I'll just have to wait!
Fortunately at the last Big Stamp and scrapbooking show at Ali Pali I bought a couple of blue dummy bling bits so they were put to good use.
I'd been thinking about doing this for a while but only just got organised to actually buy the stamp from Lavina!

Saturday 9th March
Some more playtime. Spent ages getting "erin" from Lavinia Stamps to sit on the tree root, but patience payed off in the end, twice I thought I'd done it and then put an inky finger all over it!!
Also played with Visible Images Stamp, they print beautifully and are a joy to colour. Boy cards are so hard to do, no flowers, glitter, or fluff, but they need to be done. I put the tiniest bit of glossy accents on the eyes to give them a bit of sparkle.
Eileen put me on to doing bright backgrounds using distress re-inkers and i thought all that technicolour would be great for my fairy party under the leaves.
I keep having to rush out of my crafty corner to do propper work, it is in such a heap i should stop making more cards and have a tudy up, trouble is, as i tidy I find something interesting and start crafting again!

Hi! Well I made it back from the weekend in one piece, a brilliant time was had by all so I'm ready to face the rest of the year!!
Just before I left I had some stamps delivered from Lavinia and I couldn't wait to have a go. My back was playing up after all the dancing and walking so it was a perfect excuse to get inky.
Hope you are all happy and healthy - love to you all xx
